I always try to get a window seat. Flying on a airliner, It's so easy to take for granted this most amazing feat. With no more physical effort than it takes to sit down at a diner, we zip above the clouds. Indescribable beauty is passing by as we browse the SkyMall.

Up here, every day's a sunny day. Every flight is a sight-seeing ride. I'm above the clouds! Caught between earth and space, we actually feel the planet.

Imagine describing to someone from 150 years ago that this is how we get around. Even with all the hassle of commercial air travel, it's still a wonder, a dream of man. A 21st Century jet flight is a commonplace and yet (think about it, now) extraordinary. Astonishing.
